GAY TIMES – CHRISTOPHER AND HIS KIND Nearly eighty years since he left Germany’s capital, Christopher Isherwood’s Berlin life has been immortalised in a BBC movie. We go behind the scenes on Christopher and His Kind to talk exclusively with leading men Matt Smith and Douglas Booth about the most important gay film you’ll see all year. Douglas Booth on playing gay again so soon after the success of Worried About the Boy: I had to pause for thought when I was offered the role, I had to think whether I wanted another gay character straight away. I believe that, well, what makes a character? Sexuality is such a tiny part of it. Boy George and Heinz, out of all the characters I’ve played, are probably the furthest apart. They’re totally different people. Matt Smith on homosexuality in modern times, as opposed to the setting of the film: It’s so present isn’t it? So many of my friends are gay and the gay community is so imbedded, particularly in London, in the consciousness. I can’t really imagine a city that doesn’t have a sort of gay district as it were because it feels just part of life. I love the gays, man. In our society it doesn’t feel that extreme really. It feels very natural to me, very normal. It’s one of those things. People are gay. And on his co-star: I’ve kissed lots of boys! Doug Booth… The beautiful Doug Booth! I can’t stop looking at him. Literally. It’s like “are you ALLOWED to be that handsome”? It’s insane! The new issue of GT Magazine is on sale 8 September from all good newsagents, supermarkets and bookstores and also features Tom Ellis, Neil Bartlett and Helen Lederer.

Gay Times magazine described by Acclaim Subscriptions

Gay Times magazine is probably the longest established gay magazine in the world. We grew from a marriage of Him magazine and Gay News - which was the victim of the last successful blasphemy trial in the UK, in 1977. We have grown enormously from our political and campaigning roots, keeping these integral, but growing into an exciting gay men's lifestyle and current affairs magazine featuring style, interviews, comment, music and arts. The monthly mag is put together by a crack team in North London (see below). We are the world's definitive gay magazine. Last year we had a bold redesign and re-brand and are moving through our third decade with a renewed sense of excitement.

Gay Times magazine described by Mag Nation

One of the most popular and longest running gay magazines is Gay Times. It covers everything from world news to book reviews and, of course, plenty of fashion. A feature is a broad listing of gay communities in the UK.
